Our main focus is VFX Training and more specific The Foundry’s Nuke Training. I am an authorised Nuke Trainer and VFX supervisor, with 20 years experience in the field. The main Nuke Training course is 3-5 days and it consists of the following:
Understanding of Nuke’s interface and workflows of the Multi-channel, High Dynamic Range Layering System. General CGI Compositing and Multi-pass compositing with additional CGI channels
2D Techniques, Image Manipulation and Distortion.
Morphing and Wraping,
Color Management and Color Correction.
Walkthrough to various effects and filters,
Time Manipulation and Editing along with an intro to the Dope Sheet and the mighty Curve Editor.
Working with Film and LUT, metadata and Utility Nodes.
Real world compositing. We’ll knock our selfs out with Roto and Paint, learn everything there is to know to extract a key with IBK, Keylight, Primmate, Keyer, we’ll explore various core and soft mattes techniques along with Lightwraping and Edge Bluring, and finaly will get to Lens Distortion, Tracking (Point and Planar) and Matchmoving. 3D Techniques with an intro to Nuke’s 3D Environment. We’ll explore Lights and shaders, we’ll deform geometry, we’ll find how to create pan and tile setups, and then we’ll jump to the world of Camera Tracking and Camera Projections. We’ll see the Projection Solver and the Modeler and we’ll start using our previous techniques to create Set Extentions and Rotoscope in 3D. We’ll see Texturing, Lighting and creating Fake 3D shadows, and we’ll discuss about Coverage Mapping, Environment Mapping including Cubic and Spherical, and then we’ll briefly talk about the Pixar’s Renderman integration inside Nuke. Finaly we’ll see how we work with imported 3D Data, Camera Matchmoving and 3D Model Position Integration, and we’ll touch on Dense Point Clouds and Poison Meshes.
3D particles, and enviromental effects will be one of the subject we’ll discuss. Particle Manipulation and Customisation in order to create stunning visuals or simple atmospherics. Basic introduction to Stereoscopic Compositing with 2D to Stereo Techniques, Deep Compositing, Deep holdouts, Modification of Deep Data and Creation of Deep Data. Finaly we’ll get a glimse of Basic Python scripting in order to customise our environment.
